Two scientists based in Chennai have developed a simple patent-pending generator that can produce electricity from walking… with their special shoes. The generator uses a lever that gets compressed when it is subjected to weight, which in turn sets some gears in motion and powers an attached dynamo. But really with shoes that ugly I don’t think the technology will get that far. At most it might power some of those “Jutte mein hai light” shoes.
