A UK location services company Lok8u has launched NuM8 a ground-breaking solution that combines GPS and GSM technology in a micro form factor. NuM8 is the world’s first GPS locator device specifically designed to be worn by children with the technology cleverly concealed within a child’s digital watch. If at any time NuM8 is forcibly removed an alert detailing your child’s current location is sent to your mobile phone and computer giving early warning of potential danger.
Other clever functionality includes a “where are you� function whereby if you text “wru� from your mobile phone to NuM8 or click “where r you� on the Lok8u secure portal your child’s location is then presented as an icon on Google maps and/or the street address and postcode is displayed. Unique “safe zones� can also be set in which your child can play.
